Nap-On Privacy Policy

Nap-On ("the app") is a smartwatch nap-detection app that measures your heart rate and
movement to detect when you fall asleep and wake you at the end of your chosen nap. The app
is published by Ashdown Live LLC, a Virginia limited liability company
("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used,
and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Nap-On is designed to keep your data on your device wherever possible. The app handles:

Heart-rate and motion data. While a nap session is running, the app reads
your heart rate (body sensors) and accelerometer (motion) data from your watch. This data is
processed on your device in real time to detect sleep onset. By default it stays on
your device and is not used to identify you. It is only uploaded if you actively submit a
problem report, or if you choose to turn on the optional "Improve Nap-On" program described
below.

Diagnostic session logs. If you choose to report a problem using the
in-app "Report Issue" option, the app uploads a diagnostic log of that session to our
backend so we can investigate. These logs may include heart-rate readings, motion summaries,
app event timestamps, your watch's manufacturer and model, the app version, and the time of
upload. Logs are only uploaded when you actively submit a report.

Optional "Improve Nap-On" data sharing. Nap-On includes an optional program,
turned off by default, that you can enable to help us improve the accuracy of
sleep detection. If, and only if, you turn it on (in Settings, after giving consent), the app
uploads a record of each completed nap session. This record includes a time series of your
heart-rate and motion (accelerometer) readings sampled during the session, summary detection
statistics, your nap duration, your watch's manufacturer and model, the app version, and your
answers to two optional questions shown when a nap ends (whether you fell asleep, and whether
the alarm woke you at a good time). You can turn this program off at any time in Settings,
which stops all future uploads. It is never enabled without your explicit opt-in.

Crash and stability data. The app uses Google's Crashlytics service to
automatically report crashes and errors, which helps us fix bugs. These reports include
technical information such as device state and error details.

Anonymous identifier. Before any data can be uploaded, the app
signs in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This creates a random, anonymous
identifier used only to authorize the upload. It is not linked to your name, email, or any
account, and you do not create an account to use Nap-On.
The app does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location,
or advertising identifiers, and it does not contain ads.
How we use information
- To detect sleep onset and wake you at the end of your nap (on-device).
- To diagnose and fix problems you report, and to improve the app's reliability.
- To monitor and resolve crashes and technical errors.

To research and improve the accuracy of our sleep-detection algorithm — but only using data
you choose to share through the optional "Improve Nap-On" program.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Crashlytics) to receive diagnostic
logs and crash reports on our behalf. Your data may be processed and stored on Google's
infrastructure subject to Google's terms. See

Data retention
Diagnostic logs, optional "Improve Nap-On" session records, and crash reports are retained
until we manually delete them. You can ask us to delete any data associated with you by
contacting us at the address below; because this data is tied to a randomly generated anonymous
identifier rather than your identity, please include details that help us locate it (such as the
approximate dates you used the app or submitted a report, and your watch model).
Data security
Data in transit is encrypted, and uploaded logs are stored on Google Firebase with access
restricted to us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take
reasonable measures to protect the limited data the app handles.
Children's privacy
Nap-On is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information
from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us so we can
delete it.
Your choices

You can revoke the app's access to body sensors and other permissions at any time through
your device settings. Note that nap detection relies on heart-rate access to function.
- Heart-rate and motion data are only read while a nap session is active.
- Diagnostic logs are uploaded only when you choose to submit a problem report.

The optional "Improve Nap-On" data-sharing program is off by default. Your heart-rate and
motion data leave your device only if you turn it on, and you can turn it back off at any time
in Settings.
- You can request deletion of any data you have shared by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date"
above. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
